How To Play

Choose your character card, making sure one of the players is Luffy. Set up the game board with the friends and enemy cards as described in the rules, and place each player's power-up token on their character card.
Take time to read the enemy cards in play so that you know how to defeat them. There are three elements to each player's turn, which must be followed. First, RECRUIT, second, you must FIGHT, and finally, REST.
RECRUIT - To defeat your enemies, you need to recruit a friend who will help you to do this. Take a look at the friends in play, and the ones in your hand, assess their card points, colours, and their power-up abilities.
FIGHT - Once you have decided which friend card to play, place them on the correct friend place next to the board, fight your enemies, and see if you have done enough to defeat and eliminate them from the game.
REST - Move the threat level down for defeated enemies, and up for remaining enemies. Defeated enemies are removed and replaced from the draw pile, and you take a new friend card, so you have four in your hand.
If the threat level token reaches or exceeds space 10 on the track for any reason, the Enemies have overwhelmed you, and one of your Friend cards will be defeated. Roll the dice to find out which one and remove it.

Ending The Game

Play continues with each player taking their turn to try and defeat enemies. The game ends in one of three ways.
DEFEAT – At any time, if there are ever five or more Friend cards in the Defeated Friends area, you and your crew have lost the game. No Bounty is collected, and your adventure has come to an end.
NO MORE FRIENDS – The game ends immediately when the last Friend card in the deck is drawn for any reason. You and your crew didn’t make it all the way, but you still hung in there as long as you could. This is a partial victory, and you can add up the total Bounty you collected from all of the Enemy cards you defeated.
WINNING – If you defeat ALL the enemies in the deck, you immediately win the game and gain the title of King of the Pirates! Add up your Bounties and see what level of pirate you attained.
